Viscosity of Asphalt:

The viscosity of asphalt refers to the ability of asphalt material to resist shear deformation under the action of external force. Among the technical properties of asphalt, asphalt viscosity is a property most closely related to the mechanical behavior of asphalt pavement.

And viscosity is the main basis for the classification of modern asphalt.

Dynamic(Absolute)Viscosity:

Asphalt dynamic viscosity is also called absolute viscometer. It is generally believed that dynamic viscosity is the most ideal index to reflect the heat resistance performance of asphalt in the midsummer season. In China, the temperature of asphalt pavement in summer can reach more than 60℃, and the dynamic viscosity can truly reflect the actual use of the pavement. Asphalt with high viscosity produces small shear deformation under load, good elastic recovery performance, and small residual permanent plastic deformation, that is, the pavement has a strong ability to resist rutting.

Summary

This instrument is made as per standards T 0620-2000 Dynamic Viscosity Test for Bitumen (Vacuum Capillary Method) in JTG E20-2011 Specification and Test Methods for Bitumen and Bituminous Mixture for Highway Engineering and SH/T0557-1998 Test method for Viscosity of Petroleum Asphalt (Capillary Method) . It is used to determine the dynamic viscosity of sticky petroleum asphalts by vacuum capillary viscometer.

I. Main technical features

4. According to the user's choice, the generated test report can automatically calculate the mean value and error percentage of the results of 2 to 4 parallel tests, and generate the parallel sample test report.
