2. Maintenance of electrode plugs and sockets

The plugs and sockets of the measuring electrodes and electrolysis electrodes may cause poor contact due to frequent movement. Be sure to align the protrusions of the sockets on the instrument with the notches of the electrode plugs and then insert them, and avoid rigid rotation.

Contamination of the cathode compartment may cause the following symptoms:

(1) Reduce the electrolysis efficiency and prolong the measurement time.

(2) The blank current increases due to the adhesion of the contaminated part to absorb moisture.

(3) The titration speed is unstable and cannot reach the end point.

If the above situation occurs, chloroform can be used to clean the surface of the glass and the dirt on the platinum mesh (be careful not to damage the platinum wire and platinum mesh), pour the chloroform into the cathode chamber, and seal the drying tube with a rubber stopper or similar. interface, shake well to remove internal dirt (this can be repeated). Then pour chloroform over the entire outer surface of the glass piece to rinse, but not to the electrode leads. When it cannot be cleaned, please immerse the cathode chamber in a beaker filled with dilute sulfuric acid (be careful not to damage the platinum wire and platinum mesh).

3. Maintenance of measuring electrodes

It can be used when the measuring electrode is bent without a short circuit, and can also be repaired. When repairing, hold the root of the platinum electrode with tweezers, and slowly arrange the top of the platinum electrode.

When the measuring electrode is polluted, use acetone to wipe the measuring electrode. If the dirt on the platinum wire still cannot be removed, please use the alcohol lamp flame to burn the platinum wire ball end (please pay attention to slowly approach the flame to the platinum wire ball end, Avoid explosion of the electrode glass part due to rapid heating).
