Introduction:
The Karl Fischer method is a widely used method for determining the moisture content of a substance. It can quickly determine the moisture content of liquids, solids, and gases, and is considered to be one of the most specialized and accurate chemical methods in the world. The Karl Fischer method consists of two main titration methods: coulometric titration and volumetric titration.
The Volumetric Karl Fischer KF Titrator for Volumetric Titration does not use a single self-contained anode electrolyte reagent to respond to an electric current. Instead, it uses a burette that has a piston that moves up and down, pulling the canonical solution in from the source bottle and filling the burette, which is then pushed out through the tube and into the vessel. This method is better suited for measuring large amounts of moisture, and the volumetric method shows its advantages when the moisture content exceeds 1% or 2%.
