The automatic closed flash point tester is designed and manufactured according to the requirements of GB/T261-2008 and ASTM D93 standards. The Pensky - Martens Closed Cup  Flash Point Tester has a high degree of automation, including automatic lid opening, automatic lifting, automatic temperature control, automatic ignition, automatic measurement, automatic printing, automatic open flame detection and extinguishing, intelligent fire seedling maintenance, and automatic forced cooling.

Working principle：

• Heating process: Inject an appropriate amount of liquid sample into the standard sealed cup of the flash point tester, and the heating system of the flash point tester begins to work, heating the sealed cup and sample at a uniform heating rate. Controlling the heating rate is to ensure consistency of testing conditions and accuracy of results.

• Steam formation and accumulation: As the sample temperature increases, the liquid begins to evaporate, and in the enclosed space of the flash point tester's sealed cup, steam forms a combustible mixture with the air inside the cup. Due to the sealing of the sealed cup, steam does not dissipate but gradually accumulates inside the cup.

• Flash point detection: When the mixed gas reaches a certain concentration and the ignition device triggers ignition, if the combustible mixture ignites, the temperature recorded by the temperature sensor is the closed flash point. The ignition device adopts a set ignition method, generating electric sparks at a certain frequency at a specific position inside the sealed cup of the flash point tester. At the same time, the flash point tester detects flash phenomena through optical sensors or pressure sensors. The optical sensor detects the light signal generated during flash ignition, while the pressure sensor detects the pressure changes inside the sealed cup during flash ignition.

ASTM D93 is a standard testing method published by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), which mainly focuses on determining the flash point of petroleum products and other flammable liquids in a sealed cup of a flash point tester. Flash point refers to the lowest temperature at which a liquid surface can produce sufficient combustible vapor under specified test conditions, form a combustible mixture with air, and cause flash combustion when exposed to a fire source. This standard has wide applications in various fields such as global petrochemicals, transportation, and safety regulation.
