Automated Cold-Cranking Simulator for Apparent Viscosity of Engine Oils
Introduction:
The low-temperature dynamic viscosity is an important indicator of the performance of automotive lubricants, reflecting the lubricant's ability to start and operate at low temperatures.
At low temperatures, the viscosity of the lubricant increases, making it difficult for the engine to start or even impossible to start. Therefore, the smaller the CCS of the low-temperature dynamic viscosity, the better the lubricant's fluidity at low temperatures, and the stronger its ability to start and operate.
The low-temperature dynamic viscosity CCS test is conducted by testing the lubricant at a certain low temperature at a certain speed, measuring the viscosity of the lubricant at low temperatures. This test standard has different requirements for different lubricants. For example, for gasoline engine oil, the low-temperature dynamic viscosity CCS test temperature is usually -35°C, and the test speed is 1 millimeter per second. For diesel engine oil, the test temperature is usually -25°C, and the test speed is 0.4 millimeters per second. The test results of low-temperature dynamic viscosity CCS are very important for choosing lubricants suitable for different regions and seasons. In cold winters, choosing lubricants with a low-temperature dynamic viscosity CCS value of smaller numbers can ensure the stability and reliability of engine starting and operation. Therefore, when choosing lubricants, car users should pay attention to the low-temperature dynamic viscosity CCS value and select suitable lubricants according to the climate conditions of their regions and seasons.
The automated cold-cranking simulator is mainly used to test the low temperature dynamic viscosity of engine oil. It is controlled by computer automatically. Automatic injection, cleaning, calculation of viscosity results.
