Timken Test Machine
This Timken Test Machine is mainly used to evaluate the extreme pressure bearing characteristics and friction performance of various lubricants and greases under sliding friction conditions; At the same time, it is also suitable for detecting the wear resistance of specific metal and non-metal materials (such as plastic, nylon, etc.) in sliding state, and can accurately measure the friction force to calculate the corresponding friction coefficient. At present, the machine has been widely used in various industries and research fields such as steel metallurgy, petrochemicals, transportation, and higher education institutions.
Working Principle:
The Timken Test Machine's spindle rotation is driven by a three-phase AC motor, synchronous belt, and frequency converter. The spindle speed is measured by a magnetoelectric speed sensor and a speed-measuring gear mounted on the spindle. The test force is applied via a test force rod, spring, weights, and a lifting device. The three-phase AC motor, through a worm gear reducer and lead screw, causes the weight pan to descend at a constant speed. The weights also descend at a constant speed, the spring gradually extends, and the test force gradually increases until the weight pan detaches from the weights. Conversely, as the weight pan rises, the spring gradually shortens, and the test force gradually decreases.
The Timken Test Machine's test oil sample is stored in an oil tank equipped with a heater and a platinum resistance temperature sensor. During heating, the control system controls the on/off state of a solid-state relay to maintain the temperature near the set value. When the outlet valve is opened, the oil sample flows over the surface of the test ring and block into the oil sump, where it is then pumped back into the oil tank by the oil pump motor, thus completing the cycle. The test grease is stored in a grease tank. A synchronous motor, through a worm gear reducer and a lead screw nut, drives the piston upward, thus forcing the grease through pipelines and an outlet valve onto the surface of the test ring and block.
During the test, the test ring generates friction on the block. This friction causes the friction rod to tend to rotate counterclockwise. Placing weights on the rod's tray and moving the slider to the right causes it to tend to rotate clockwise. Torque balance is achieved when the right end of the friction rod just begins to fall, allowing the friction force to be calculated.
