The Simulated service corrosion tester for engine coolants is a professional equipment used to evaluate the corrosion protection performance of engine coolant on metal components under actual operating conditions. By simulating the closed cycle environment of the cooling system, the corrosion degree of the coolant on standard metal test pieces such as brass, steel, etc. is tested. The protection performance is evaluated through weight loss analysis (mg/cm ²) of the test pieces and observation of the surface state of system components (such as deposits and pitting). It is suitable for coolant formula research and development, quality control, and specification certification. It is widely used in production enterprises, automobile manufacturers, third-party laboratories, and other scenarios, providing scientific basis for the reliability of the cooling system.


Standards adopted:

The core goal of ASTM D2570 is to quantify the degree of corrosion of coolant on various metal materials by simulating the real working conditions of engine cooling systems, providing data support for coolant formulation optimization, quality control, and life prediction. This standard is closely related to actual usage conditions, such as dynamic circulation systems: evaluating the erosion and corrosion of metal surfaces by simulating the flow of coolant in components such as radiators and water pumps.

In a closed system consisting of a reservoir, a water pump, a radiator and a rubber tube, the sample was circulated for 1064 hours at 88°C and a certain flow rate. The weight loss of the sheet and the visual inspection of the state surface of the inner surface of each component are determined, and the performance change of the sample is determined by analyzing the sample taken from the system periodically during the test cycle.
