The Engine Coolant Aluminum Pump Cavitation Corrosion Characteristics Tester, which meets the ASTM D2809 standard, is a highly specialized laboratory equipment with extremely strict parameter control. It quantitatively evaluates the ability of the coolant to protect aluminum components from cavitation corrosion by accurately simulating the operating environment of the engine water pump under specific harsh conditions. This test result is one of the core indicators for evaluating the performance of an engine coolant, especially for modern high-power density engines.


Principle:

The Engine Coolant Aluminum Pump Cavitation Corrosion Characteristics tester simulates the high temperature and high pressure environment of the engine cooling system, causing the aluminum pump to operate at high speed in the coolant, resulting in cavitation. The local high pressure and high temperature during the rupture of air pockets can accelerate the corrosion of aluminum surfaces. After a period of continuous testing, the corrosion level of the pump body (such as quality loss and surface damage) is evaluated to assess the corrosion resistance of the coolant.

Features:

  1. The Engine Coolant Aluminum Pump Cavitation Corrosion Characteristics tester consists of operation and display, heating control, speed control, pressure control, flow control system and supporting components.

  2. Motor: used for coolant circulation drive, linked with the water pump.
  3. Water pump: imported water pump as required by standard ASTM D2809 method.
  4. Vacuum pressure gauge: digital display of real-time pump inlet vacuum.
  5. Throttle valve: used to regulate the flow rate of the water pump.
  6. Heater: heat the coolant to the test temperature.
  7. Liquid storage tank: store cooling liquid for piping system.
  8. Heat exchanger: through cooling water heat transfer, provide 35~38℃ test temperature.
  9. Adjustment valve: Three adjustment valves are used to adjust the vacuum and test pressure.
  10. Pressure gauge: display the pressure during the test.
  11. Expansion tank: steam expansion device.
