Abel Closed Cup Flash Point Tester
The Abel closed flash point tester, which complies with the ISO 13736 standard, is a specialized equipment used to determine the flash point of low flash point flammable liquids (such as gasoline, solvent oil, kerosene, etc.) and liquids containing suspended particles. Its core function is to accurately determine the minimum temperature at which the combustible vapor emitted by the sample during heating, mixed with air and ignited by an open flame, through a standardized closed testing process. This provides key data support for the safety classification of petroleum products, risk assessment of chemical raw materials, and transportation regulations for hazardous materials.
Standard basis and technical characteristics:
ISO 13736《Petroleum products — Determination of flash point — Abel closed-cup method》 The core conditions for testing are specified as follows:
Test scope: Suitable for light liquids with flash points ranging from -30 ℃ to 70 ℃, especially for volatile petroleum fractions and chemical solvents.
Heating control: Heat up uniformly at a rate of 1 ℃/min, with a temperature control accuracy of ± 0.5 ℃ to ensure uniform heat conduction.
Ignition mechanism: When the temperature approaches the expected flash point, use an igniter (flame diameter 4 ± 0.5mm) to horizontally move above the test cup and ignite once every 1 ℃ increase in temperature, capturing the instantaneous flash phenomenon.
Summary of Test Method:
The test portion is placed in the test cup of an Abel closed flash point tester and heated to give a constant temperature increase with continuous stirring. An ignition source is directed through an opening in the test cup cover at regular temperature intervals with simultaneous interruption of stirring. The lowest temperature at which application of the ignition source causes the vapors of the test portion to ignite and propagate over the surface of the liquid is recorded as the flash point at the ambient barometric pressure. The temperature is corrected to standard atmospheric pressure using an equation.
Automatic Abel Closed Cup Flash Point Tester automatically detects the flash point of the specimen, save and print out test results. Memory capacity is 256 sets of test results. The instrument is designed based on a multi-microcontroller system, combined with MODBUS network and advanced temperature & mixing control system. It features great reproducibility, user-friendly, complete functionalities, beautiful design and graphic interfaces.
Features:
Automatic control of test process: lid control arm motion, metal & sample temperature control (heating & cooling), ignition, flash point detection, test results calculation, saving and printing are all performed automatically.
