This drop melting point apparatus is suitable for detecting the drop melting point of petroleum wax and petroleum grease.
Under the specified conditions, immerse the cooled thermometer into the sample and ensure that the sample adheres evenly to the mercury balls of the two thermometers. Place the thermometer with the attached sample in a test tube, heat it with a water bath to melt the sample, and the first drop drops from the mercury ball of each thermometer. The average value of the low temperature is the drop melting point of the sample.
